  5. A number of eukaryotic  and  archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
  6. on the basis of sequence similarities [1]. One of these families consists of:

  9.  - Xenopus S8.
  10.  - Mosquito S7.
  11.  
  12. These proteins have about 190 amino acids. As a signature pattern we selected
  13. a perfectly  conserved  stretch of 14 residues which is located in the central
  14. section and which is rich in charge residues.
