- * Ribosomal protein S7e signature *
- ***********************************
-
- A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
- on the basis of sequence similarities [1]. One of these families consists of:
-
- - Mammalian S7.
- - Xenopus S8.
- - Mosquito S7.
-
- These proteins have about 190 amino acids. As a signature pattern we selected
- a perfectly conserved stretch of 14 residues which is located in the central
- section and which is rich in charge residues.
-
- -Consensus pattern: R-L-V-R-E-L-E-K-K-F-S-G-K-H
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
- -Last update: June 1994 / First entry.
